Neem Oil

Question:

Please find a picture attached here. I observed some white stuff growing on this plant and is further suppressing health & growth of the plant all together. Could help to know what is it and how to cure?

Mealy Bug

Answer:

I’m sorry to report your plant has mealy bugs. They are happily sucking the life out of your plant’s stem and compromising its ability to grow. In addition to looking bad it is causing enormous stress that may kill the plant.

Solution would begin with a slow, diligent cleaning with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. Try to remove all mealy bugs with the alcohol soaked Q-tip.

Once you can no longer see mealy buys, apply a systemic bug killer to the soil (water in) and spray the leaves and stem with neem oil every 14 days.
