Pollinator week! Plant lantana for the nectar and the color!

Recognize pollinators this week by planting something you know they're going to enjoy.

Recognize pollinators this week by planting something you know they’re going to enjoy. Butterflies and hummingbirds enjoy the color and fragrance of lantana plants. In the tropical summer climate of Minnesota these delightful flowers are used in containers and hanging baskets for reliable color. Lantana draw the attention of people, hummingbirds and butterflies alike.
Lantana are available in a variety of colors, grow well in full sun and enjoy regular, daily water. When you bring your human nose in close, the plants smell of sweet citrus. Our favorite combos include lantana. Try pairing with creeping jenny as a trailer, a tall coleus as a background plant and some bright purple petunias.
