Turf 101

To get started right away on a great looking lawn, lightly rake to loosen up dead grass and thatch from the previous year. Add soil and peat moss to low spots that need filling or add soil to dog spots to help amend the pH before seeding. The next step you take will determine what fertilizer you use.  Please fertilize your lawn!  If you put down grass seed, use an all purpose fertilizer or starter fertilizer for new lawns.  If you don’t seed, you may want to use a crab grass preventer to keep your lawn looking great from the get go!

Get out there!  The weekend will be warm and possibly a little rainy….perfect for your lawn!
