penstemon prairie dusk perennial beardtongue

A neat and low growing Penstemon that blooms earlier than other varieties, ‘Praire Dusk’ features leaved stems of rose-purple tubular flowers that reach a little under two feet in height.    This selection is definetly one to have in the foreground of the garden where the intriciticies of the flowers can be examined.  The inner part of the flower is striped white and the front of the flower is also stripped giving it a ‘bearded’ look.  The effect of this striping gives the flower the appearence of being lit from within – truly a special specimen.
