It starts with a joint effort to spend a little time at the garden center picking out plants to plant.

Decide on a topic of interest and get your kids involved in the garden.  Help plant and water and take walks around your yard to discover together what is happening and how plants change from week to week.

Are you most interested in color, attracting bees and butterflies, or planting food and berries to watch grow?

This time of year is extra exciting because of all the cool insects out and about.  Identify what different bugs are in your yard and make a photo journal of flowers and their pollinating buddies.

The best bloomers for this week are BlackEyed Susans, Cone Flowers and Yarrow.

Remember: Pick what’s pretty and come with your child’s interests in mind.  Make gardening fun and interesting by allowing your child to participate in all aspects of the garden process.
