Lavender for your garden, for your senses.

Lavender is everywhere these days.

lavender plant

Lavender is everywhere these days.  In the local grocery coop we see essential oils and lotions claiming to calm and soothe restless minds and bodies.  Natural lavender is scented in baby care items, it’s the main ingredient in potpourri sachets, a diffused oil is misted in yoga classes and crushed leaves are even used in cooking fine deserts.

We like to grow lavender in our yards and containers.  Lavender has a unique silver foliage with blade-like texture.  Mixed with deep purples pinks and blues, it becomes a sturdy foundation in our containers.  Like to create with succulents in your mixed containers?  Lavender looks stunning with most any succulent, plant leafed echeveria especially.

Cut and dry your lavender at the end of the season to make your own scented lavender bouquets. Hang them in the shower or wrap dried lavender in cheese cloth and tuck in your drawers.

Enjoy the beauty and healing effects of lavender.
