Pussy Willow Stems are made for the COLD!

Pussy Willow stems are the plant of the week! We have all kinds of indoor plants here at the garden center, but when it comes to outdoor planting…well, we want you to wait a couple weeks at least! There are ways to upgrade your old winter tree top pot look before Easter. We suggest pulling out your brown, dry tree tops and replacing with a center bouquet of Pussy Willow stems. If you take a look at your tree tops and they won’t budge, go ahead a prune them out with a sharp pruner, then add your stems to the center. Dress the soil around the edge of your pot with dried moss. When the weather gets closer to 30 degree nights, you can add in pots of pansies or bulb pans to build in color around your Pussy Willow foundation.

The best plants for the cold are pansies and violas, however even they like to keep safe from freezing solid. Warmer days are ahead and Pansymonium is right around the corner!
