Glossy deep green foliage grows to nearly three feet and is topped with rose-pink turtlehead shaped flowers from late summer into fall. Â This perennial favorite is deer-resistant, attracts butterflies and will spread over time. Â Named after Chelone – a greek nymph who failed to attend Zeus’ wedding and was punished by the god by turning her into a turtle, hence the common name, turtlehead.
